Music is an integral part of the worship experience. The theme of our church’s music ministry is “ Serving God Through Music”. We strive to provide excellent and meaningful music at all of our services. Our choir provides anthems each Sunday from September through June.
Chancel Choir
This is our adult choir. Their anthems range from traditional to classical to contemporary. This is an all volunteer group and all are welcome to join. No try-outs are necessary, although a basic knowledge of music and singing are always helpful. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:15 PM and Sunday mornings at 9 AM before the service from September through June.
Amadeus Ringers Bell Choir
This is our adult handbell choir. They usually provide music during worship once each month. This is an all volunteer group and new members are always welcome. No try-outs are necessary; basic music knowledge is helpful. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 PM from September through June.
Choristers
This is our children’s choir. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 11:15 a.m from September through June.
Our Organ—Our present organ (the church’s third ) is a two manual pipe organ. It is a rebuilt organ from Austin Organ Inc. of Hartford, CT. It was installed in 1959.
Our Music Committee plans music and fun activities throughout the year. These include inviting musical groups to present concerts, holding a hymn sing with a soup and salad luncheon, and an ice cream social which includes music by Center Stage Jazz from the Plainville Wind Ensemble.
